Laying Mom to Rest

Today was the service for my Mother. All the hard work My brother, myself and our families provided over the last few days to make this a special occasion, tribute, and celebration of her life was delivered in full. I felt all the love pour out and spill in wet sunshine on everybody’s faces today.

My brother’s speech was a masterful work of art which was a blessing from God which took the form of words on paper. I was by his side to provide the strength for him to recite them proudly and help everyone understand the magnificence this woman provided in shaping us.

Within her program we provided the following Poem…

God’s Garden
God looked around his garden
And he found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this
Earth, and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you but
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Her uncompromising nurturing resulted in who my brother and I have become. We aspire to be the loving fathers and offer the strength, encouragement and support for our wives and children as she gave us to continue her loving tradition for generations to come.

We Will Love Her Forever…
