I have spent a good deal of time researching the domain name marketplace and have come across some really good resources that will be of help to anyone interested:

Dnforum - Great forum site discussing most issues about domains
Whois Source - Best whois site I have been able to find with excellent features
Snapnames - Service that allows you to “Backorder” domain names that expire
Name Winner - Similar to above service except that they use an auction style
Marketleap - See how “popular” a site is base on search engine links
Alexa - Get traffic, external links, and site history from the wayback machine
Overture - See the popularity of search engine keywords
