Los Angeles Courthouse (San Fernando) runs Linux (Fedora Core) on public terminals
I am writing this post from a public terminal at the San Fernando courthouse (in LA County). They have 2 public terminals that you can rent time on to access the net. Prices are $4 for 60 minutes or $10 for a one day pass. Upon sitting down to use it I knew something was different. I signed up for the one hour pass (there goes half my pay for jury duty) and upon getting to the desktop I knew I wasn’t in Kansas anymore. I had a stripped down taskbar and had Firefox running. I quickly checked some email and then when I exited I saw the Fedora Core logo appear. Very interesting to see the tech saviness of the court.
